hd200 efi EVO OBD2 connection problem

My 2009 HD200 efi EVO has been stranded at work for 2 weeks with a fast blinking red led CHK light, i.e. won't start.  I bought the Chinese 7in1 OBD2 interface and installed it into a factory reset W7 laptop, UART bridge is installed correctly, and the software prog.  fires up  fine, after I've connected the lead to the 3 pin obd2 connector on scooter, and switched ignition on etc. it fails to initialize or communicate with ECU.  I've tried setting 9600 baud rate in the two places buried in Windows, (and 57,600) on Com 3  ...anyone any ideas what the baud rate should be ?   ...or any other ideas :-) ?

Which came first, the no-start or the OBDII device? No blame, just curious.

Hi, it refused to start 11pm, (going home time !), at work a couple of weeks ago, can hear petrol pump running / pressurising for a few seconds upon switching on ignition as per normal.  CHK lamp flashing fast, continually, starter turns engine over normally but doesn't fire at all.  Spark plug out,  resting on cylinder head = very healthy spark.
Bought Chinese 7in1 DTC reader, when all connected up, it can't establish communication with ECU.  So will soon be on the hunt for an affordable m/c DTC reader that works.
BTW, USB to UART driver correctly installed into laptop, software runs fine but only seems to support three SYM  RV models.  Spotted a proper SYM DTC reader on eBay but it's too expensive !

No offence intended (and should have noted that, sorry).  Here in the US we never got the EFI model, so I'm no help. Good luck in your search!
