Donít loose your acorns
« on: January 11, 2020, 06:49:59 PM »
Lost an acorn nut because I forgot to tighten the upper part of my rear suspension.. luckily I did not wreck but still scared me haha

Hardware store didnít carry a replacement. Called a specialty bolt store, they also didnít carry them. Called two other hardware stores and even a repair shop, nothing. Had to order them off amazon, $14 for 4 freaking nuts.

Donít be like me, check your nuts.

I had a new 1966 Suzuki 500cc TITAN that lost a rear shock acorn nut going down the highway at night.
The shock slipped off the stud and the rear end dropped down .. couldn't find the nut in the dark .... slow ride home.
That was 54 yrs ago and I remember it well.

Glad you got a new set - and a memory of your own.
Get your motor runnin' .. get out on the highway.

Bet that was fun. In my truck I always carry zip-ties and philips head hose clamps, probably going to add some the roadside kit for my bike haha
