maximum engine mileage

Have you got any ideas about maximum engine mileage for Citycom 300i without overhaul?

How well do you care for it? Given regular oil and filter changes, and caring for all other mechanicals, it should last tens of thousands of miles. I know of Vespas with nearly 100k on the clock, the Citicom's engine is similar.

I've got 14,000 on mine and it's running better than ever.

Mine has got over 25000 miles. I bought it recently. As I know it's been very well cared of. Still I'm wondering how much is left... :-)

Mine has 47,000kms/30,000 miles. No problems. I've changed engine oil every time the red light came on and gear box oil every second time.

It seems to me that 2009 was the year Citycom 300i was first released on the market and there are very few Citycoms with mileage bigger than 40 - 50.000 km...

Please, don't take this the wrong way.
So? If 2009 was the first year for Citycoms, and you don't see any with more then 40-50k, what do you think that means?

I think it means that very few Citycom 300 riders do more than 5-6k km per year. :-)
Well to be honest as for now I don't ride mine at all as I haven't passed the exam for licence yet ;-)
I know you may find it strange or funny to buy a bike and then doing the licence but that's the way it is in my case...

I agree. I think the other reason you don't see high mileage any kind of scoot is people who expect to ride, then don't, for any of many reasons.

Could just be that the forum hasn't captured anybody who's using this scoot for day to day in addition to recreational riding.
Those are the folks who pile on the miles.

I bought my CC used with 4,000kms on it - almost 4 years ago - and it is 2009 I think so the previous owner was a "non-user". I'm doing around 8 to 12,000kms a year - about 70km a day, usually 4 days a week - I plan to run it until it won't run anymore. It's been so utterly reliable with so little maintenance.... so even at 12k a year, you might have to wait some time to find out how many kms this scoot can do. I don't mind "waiting" - hope it takes many more years to find out ;-)

But it'll now die on the way home cos I said that.

I just did an oil change at 58,821 and a lot less oil came out than usual. About 700 to 800ml came out I'd say, and it's usually over 1 litre. It took the usual 1.3L fill so it's not trapped - must have burned in the engine I guess, which means the engine is now showing signs of wear.

The LCD dash clock has faded too - the fuel gauge and ODO are still fine - just the central part of the LCD display is failing.

The next service is more major - will need a new spark plug, belt, both oils and maybe more, so I'll keep an eye on the oil level before then too. I wish it had a sight glass :-(

My CC has turned 62,000kms - new spark plug and engine and gearbox oil changes. Belt is barely okay so I'll change it during the Christmas holidays.

I paid a little more attention to oil levels these last 3,000kms and it seemed okay. At the oil change, 1.0L came out and 1.2L went in. I'll park her in the same spot, let her cool down, and take a pic of the oil dipstick over the next 3,000kms to make a more accurate assessment of the oil loss.

The LCD display is slowly worsening - I guess it is the polariser screen cos this looks a lot like what happens to old Gameboys. It's still readable during the day but it's impossible at night with the backlight washing out most of the display.

But still she takes me to work and back every day without issues so I wonder how much life she still has left.
