New to Joyride...some queries
« on: November 15, 2016, 01:00:17 AM »
Dear all.

Bought a used Joyride 200 evo a week ago, used with about 20k km mileage. Have a few questions that seek kind help to answer...

1.  High idling speed:  I searched online that the idle speed for the ride should be 1800+/- 100 rpm.  Mine hovers at around 2000 rpm. How do I bring it lower considering it is a efi model with no carb adjustment?

2.  Standard belt sizes: without taking the variator apart can someoe kindly advise on the belt size please?

Thanks

regds.

After a while, I know the answer.  2000rpm at idle is actually acceptable.  Important thing to note is to remove the throttle body and clean it using carb cleaner.  Also, remove the Fuel Injection and clean it as well.  It would make your ride smoother.

I think the tachometer reading is not precise as we think... but if you look closer, the needle stands a little just below the 2000RPM, and sometimes specially when you start the engine idles a little bit higher, lets say about 2200RPM for a while then drops down.

And about the belt, there are about 3 suppliers. Dayco, Polini and Bando. Bando is the OEM supplier for the belt. sadly where i live, I can only buy original spare parts since Chinese scooters with GY6 engines dominate. But eBay always is a solution. And finally, I could not find out if the belt is shared with another scooter of another brand, if so it would be great news although I think it is possible.

The SYM RV200 scooter shares the same engine with the HD200. If we can presume that it shares the same belt, then the following two videos shall offer some insight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLmTPJc7k8I & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B040g8lAGcw

I do not have an actual size or part number for the belt. Please post the size as and when you find out.
