The weather wimp
« on: February 22, 2015, 12:37:11 PM »
56 degrees with an 80% chance of rain? Guess my Symba gets to sleep in this weekend.  :(

I envy your weather hardiness, Rich.

yeah, it is cloudy here in SoCal today, might rain later, may be some puddles tomorrow morning, I will need to see if I can get the car started to drive to work!  Yep, I am a wimp.

Worried that the rain might start, my mate and I took out our rides.
Next time I'll take the helmet cam..the back roads were fun!  There were some washes too (lots of sand, not fun)!

Looks like great fun HelloPitty!  I have not gone off road yet.  Did yours handle well?

Man! I wish I had another Symba to ride with. I think the SoCal folks on this board are too far away from me. I am on the eastern edge of L.A. county.

Steph, the Symba is easier for me to control compared to the Vespa when it comes to dirt.
I'm able to hold my feet down when the terrain is uneven and steady myself.
There were some very wide, sandy, wash areas where I was able to navigate somewhat easily.  When the bike wanted to swish to one side, I was able to ride through and stay upright.
There was one time when I was fish-tailing and I panicked, the bike wanted to fall, but it's so lightweight I kept it upright.  Imagine my delight!  :)
I plan to take my helmet cam next time that way folks can see the Symba's capability.

SymbaWal, maybe one day I can haul my Symba and my friend's out your way, meet near a trail or riding area of your choice...just a thought.  ;)

I would never object to that idea! I'll have to see what kinds of trails are available for riding around these parts. I've never taken my Symba off road before. Would be a neat experience! Are you running the stock tires?

SymbaWal, it doesn't have to be off road.  Perhaps there are some nice little side streets or scenic areas that are on regular roads.

Yes, that would be great. I have some fairly scenic routes to run on this side of the county. Realistically, it would have to wait for the summer. I am very tied up until about June.

No worries, some day it might work out.  Timing, it's hard to synchronize.
