HD200 / Re: Starter motor issue ??
« Last post by Tromper on December 28, 2020, 04:42:36 PM »
I haven't had to replace on to date, so nope.
A thought might be to try to source one via a dealer since this doesn't seem to be a huge issue on these bikes <knock wood>.  Might well be the same 101 part but with cheap parts one of the first things to go is QC, so maybe (if lucky) a more expensive version of same has better QC, & that'll get it assuming there's not something odd going on with your bike that's burning these out.

I actually had an issue with the starter relay the next day. It got stuck choking even with the key turned off and completely out. i had to open up the seat and bang the starter relay for it to stop from getting stuck choking. I have replaced these before, they are pretty simple and cheap from Amazon. But i canít find a Ďgreatí one so i donít have to keep replacing it. Any ideas for a good one that will last long?

Been kinda meh here as well, but did do the rollers (sliders) and a new belt a couple weeks ago.
The bike had picked up a new funny vibration on accelleration so I'd parked it since I knew this was due despite it having been fine when I checked about 1k or so miles ago.
I found the old belt was coming apart & a chip in the clutch.  The clutch is still working fine, but with the chip I had doubts on longevity so I ordered a chinese knock off clutch off fleabay.
I'll try that out but will still have the old one to build out to a HiT clutch or something if the knock off ain't doing it.

I was nearly at 30,000km today so went for a short ride around ( in the rain). Got home and mileage at 30028km. Changed the engine oil and cleaned the oil filter. Put new air filter in and cleaned crankcase filter and crankcase breather pipe. Still to do ; final drive oil,  fit new drive belt and fit new set of rollers. Might wait for better weather to finish service.

Symba / 45 minute video of Symba action

I realize that there aren't many people left on the forum who still have their Symba's, but I just uploaded a Symba video over the weekend. It is mostly about 45 minutes of riding one of my Symba's around a lake near here.. pretty boring unless you like Symba's and the sounds they make.. LOL..
