Symba / auto choke...annoying?

Is this normal auto choke operation?...Engine is running at operating temperature (everything is running good), and I pull into Micky D's for a quick snack. I come out 15 minutes later and start the bike up. The bike idles high for a few minutes (The choke is probably enaged in enrichment mode), eventhough the engine is already hot.

This is kind'a annoying because when I step on the shifter with high idle, the tranny klunks harsh into gear. I don't like it. Wish there's a way to make it manual choke like a motorcycle. On days I have to make a lot of short trips, it's annoying very.

Symba / Oiling air filter

Just curious what is everybody using to oil the air filter.

I've been using some expensive motocross oil, but the filter is always so clean despite me riding in dusty conditions.

Symba / gas cap almost impossible to unlock

Just started happening last week. I was at the gas station, and it took me 10 minutes to unlock the gas cap. Almost had to call the tow truck.

The key was stuck almost. It would only turn after 10 minutes of wiggling it and cursing. I got home and had the same symptom, even after using a lot of graphite lube in the lock mechanism.

With the gas cap off the bike, the key lock turns easily and smoothly like nothing is wrong.

I think it's busted. Anyone know of a aftermarket gas cap that can fit?

Symba / Stuttering caused by electrical problem?

Guys & gals,
I need some advice with a engine problem. Last winter when the weather started to turn cool, the engine began to stuttering. It does it when I crack the throttle open quickly. For example, the throttle is closed as I'm slowing down for a red light...the light turned green...so I crack the throttle open to 3/4...the engine stumbles for a second or two before it accelerate. This problems seems to be getting worse.

Also, it only does it when the engine is fully warmed up. When the engine is cold, it doesn't stutter no matter how hard I crack the throttle.

First I suspected jetting is off. I've tried a 58, 60 and 62 main. I've tried a size bigger slow jet. I've tried all the different combinations. I've tried messing with the fuel screw. I've tried raising the needle by adding a small washing. I couldn't get rid of this stumble.

I'm at wits end. I'm beginning to suspect the problem is somewhere else...like the CDI module or ignition coil...since the problem only shows up when the engine is at operating temperature.


What do y'all think?

Hi

How does Symba suspension compare to other scooter (like HD200)?

I am only 150 pounds, but have to ride some pretty crappy road on my commute. I'm getting sick of the bike's suspension beating up on my back.

So I'm thinking about replace my Symba with a bigger scoot like a HD200, before I need the service of a chiropractor.

Symba / Turn signal problem

My turn signals don't blink when engine is idling.
But they do blink properly when the engine is rev'ed.

Any idea?

Symba / Stumbling on deceleration

My Symba lately has developed this wierd stumbling when I crack the throttle wide open while engine braking. For example, I'm going 40 mph and decelerating for a red light...the light turns green...the bike is now going 30 mph, and I whack the throttle to wide-open...the bike would sputter bad for a second and then pull strong. It stumble only if there's deceleration involved. And if I slowly add throttle, it won't stumble. It just started doing this lately.

The bike pulls very strong everywhere else. The problem seems to be gradually getting worse. (Maybe due to weather getting colder?)
I checked everything I can think of.
  • checked float height
  • checked float needle
  • installed new jets 40 pilot/60 main
  • verified fuel flow thru the fuel filter
  • played with the fuel screw

I also tried 62 main jet, and shimmed the needle. That mostly cured the problem, but it still stumble a little and it's too rich. The plug was black, and the muffler tip was full of carbon. So, I just switched back to 60 size. I also tried 58, but the bike felt sluggish with it and still stumbled. I feel 60 is the strongest pulling.

Is the problem electrical ? CDI? Timing? How do I check?

Symba / Side Stand Bad

I think the SS is pathetic. Already dropped my bike twice. Seems like parking on even slight decline will be falling down bike. Poor design?

I am paranoid now, and rarely use the SS anymore. But an arm injury makes lifting the bike on CS everytime a bit painful.

Symba / Engine sputter after fording

I powered thru a few very shallow water crossings, and I was surprised the engine didn't like it. I had to hold the throttle wide open for about 10 seconds each time, to keep it from dieing.

When I got to a deep creek crossing (about 12" deep), I turned off the bike and pushed it across. When I started up the engine, it wants to die on me like also.

Is this normal ? How is water getting it ?

Hi. What is the torque spec for the hub sleave nut (23mm)?
Or is this one of those that don't need to be very tight?

By the way, does the oem tool kit come with a 23mm wrench?
