You may remember a few weeks ago I posted about my long seat ? At that time I mentioned that I was going to order the hard side cases. I ordered them and they came to me in about a week ( actually, they were sent to my dealer) anyway, didn't take long at all.

The packing was good, the brackets came in a different box with some rudimentary instructions, and I mean basic, think just a photo, no written words, although there are some instructions for remounting your turn signals, and re-wiring them, but there again, the written word could have been better. Let's just say that you're going to have to be a little handy. I think I'm in for some trial and error with the brackets though.' Nuff said.

The cases are of a thin plastic or fiberglass material, fairly brittle it seems, and I don't know if they'll survive a tip over, I don't want to find out. The cases don't seem very"robust", as it were.

You'll be able to put books, groceries, raingear, a coat, things like that in the cases. A helmet? No. They are lockable which is nice, but the locks are not keyed the same, which is not, so, you'll get to add two extra keys to your keyring.

Each case has a light at the rear, red in color, and I don't know if these are just running lights, or turn signal lights, or what, in any case there is a three wire pigtail attached to them. I'm not sure but I thought all turn signals had to be amber in color. I don't know. I'll hook them up to something though, never waste a good light, see and be seen I say.

The quality is very good, and the paint is a deep, rich black, with an outstanding shine, in fact, it was hard to find an angle to get a pic without me being reflected back, and no one wants to see me.

These are just opinions on my first look at the cases, and after I get them installed I'll post some photos and a complete write-up
