Charging Battery on VS125
« on: December 12, 2011, 04:51:27 PM »
The battery on my VS125 has gone flat. How do I take it out of the machine?  Do I have to remove bodywork?

Remove the r/h side passenger footrest and the body panel behind it, that will give you clear access to the battery box, remove the two nuts that hold the cover on and the cover will come off. You can get the cover off without removing the body panel, but that will risk bending the panel too far.

The dealer I bought my scooter from (second hand) had to replace the battery and when I saw how they bent the panel out to get access to the battery, I thought that it looked too easy to break it, so I just take the cover off all together. Takes a few minutes and no risk of breaking it.
When taking off the panel, after taking the screws out, don't pull the panel out, just hold it firm and slide it back to unhook the tabs, then it will lift away freely.
9:40 AM now, no sleep yet.
