The red HD 200 has a new look with black powder coated wheels and shocks, red  calipers, and red stitching on the seat.
Here in Calif., we've had the Evo since 2009, and it is one of SYM's best built bikes.
The 2012 HD 200's are now finally CARB approved!

Gah. The new colours are nice, but the Evo keeps the rather wooden single-piston caliper up front, but gets a 2-piston out back?

They put the good brake on the wrong end!

What is the engine performance difference between the standard HD200 and the HD200 EVO?

In the specs I found a 2008 model - just a .3HP bump? It it mostly an air quality mod  or something? SYM official site has nothing I could find.

The HD 200 Evo has only been released on the Italian Market. As Italy is one of the largest high wheeled scooter markets in the world, SYM developed a scooter to suit.
The HD 200 Evo will be sold alongside the current HD 200 but the differences are clear.

Style has been enhanced through the frontal appearance. Nice small screen, the front grill enhanced and a different headlight give the HD 200 Evo a very European influence.

Even a rear disc has been added for extra stopping power and the underseat helmet storage has been increased.
The Dash has also come in for a slight update. Motor, suspension and the rest of the body remains unchanged.

All these changes add up to one very practical, stylish scooter.

No word yet if this scooter will find its way to Australia but this is a great example of a manufacturer working alongside a local market to give its customer what it wants.

SYM is imported into Australia under the Bolwell banner.
