« on: December 04, 2017, 12:18:59 PM »
The headlight relay in my Citycom 300 keeps burning out. does anyone know why? I buy a new one, it lasts for 6-12 months then burns out.

Kiwi Scoot had an interesting post on the topic here http://symforum.com/index.php?topic=982.0
Also saw some reference in the archived scoot dawg forum  http://scootdawg.proboards.com/thread/40019/sym-citycom-300i-intermittent-headlight

Beyond that I'm not a real electrical whiz, but some of the folks here are.

What are the symptoms when it dies?
Are you able to get it going by flicking your switch as noted?
You running stock lights?
Euro or U.S. version?
What year is the bike?

Cheers

Thank you for the links. In answer to your questions:

1. I turn on the bike, the lights flash and then die. They never come back on because the relay is not shot.
2. No because the relay is shot.
3. Yes
4. US
5. 2009
