Where to buy a radiator in USA?
« on: November 10, 2017, 12:47:39 PM »
Just bought a 2008 RV250 that looks like its sat outside in the Florida sun for awhile. I rode it about 25 miles then coolant started spilling out. Looks like I need a new radiator. Where would be the best source to find this part? I'm in FL.

Thanks for any tips!

I wouldn't start looking for a part until I was sure it was faulty

Several other parts on your scooter are involved in carrying engine coolant
and could be the source of the leak

Wondering if maybe it just overheated and...boil over..

How about a faulty radiator cap, loose or leaky hose, blown gasket, etc..

There are pressure testers on the market, which consist of a hand pump and adaptors that replace your radiator cap (this allows you to simulate the pressure inside the cooling system of a engine at operating temperature, while the engine is cold and parked in your driveway, to help locate a coolant leak)

I have successfully used a bicycle pump (removed the pump head so it was just a rubber hose in the radiator) and some duct tape to make a seal between the pump hose and the radiator filler neck, in the parking lot at work, to locate a leak on a coworkers truck...found it on the tank and JB Weld to the rescue...

Make 100% sure you truly have a leak and what part is the culprit, then go from there

Fingers crossed there's no 'corroded nipples' like we've seen recently on this forum😜
