HD200 owner needs a little help
« on: October 08, 2017, 08:01:39 PM »

I think I have a bad starter button/switch on my 2008 HD200. I need to get access to it. I have been trying to get the rear handlebar cover off. I have removed 5 screws from the back side of that cover. 2 up towards the top, 2 from the sides, and 1 bigger one in the middle. Feels like I am going to break something trying to get it off. I believe the switch might just need a good cleaning. So, this is the plastic cover that the starter button attaches to.
The old HD is approaching 20,000 miles now. I will tell you this, I will never buy another scooter without a kick starter as a backup (like my 2009 Kymco People 150 has)!

Haven't had a chance to look mine over, but did take a look the manual (available here http://scooterunderground.ca/knowledge/manuals/)

Per a pic and instructions in Chapter 13 Page 4 it looks like there is one screw on the front that needs to be pulled as well.

Thanks, Tromper!! I knew there must be another screw somewhere I was missing.
