initial start after engine work
« on: November 04, 2016, 12:30:51 PM »
Hi, thanks for reading.  I took apart and put back the engine, filled fluids, but it won't start. just a single click from the engine area when pressing the start button.  Beside everything else that might be wrong, I don't think any fuel is getting past the fuel pump.  Is there a way to prime this or otherwise get fuel into the carb  so that it will have a chance to start?
Thanks in advance

If you're just getting a single click, it could be something electrical, like a dead/weak battery. Try seeing if your lights dim when you try to crank it.
If it were a fueling issue, the starter would crank, but the engine just wouldn't catch. This is probably electrical. It could also be an issue with the starter itself.
