please help coolant leak
« on: August 03, 2016, 07:07:12 AM »
Hi there.  I found a coolant leak and subsequent corroded nipples on the coolant hose leading to the engine casing (i think).  This is the coolant hose that sits behind the exhaust and the other coolant hose that goes into the thermostat.  It goes from there to up under the bike, in the center.  Anyway, these corroded nipples now stick out less than 3/16" from the casings and I cannot reattach the hose.  Are these nipples removable?  If so are they threaded? What can they be replaced with?  If they cannot be removed then is there anything else that can be done?  Thanks so much for any help !

just to answer my own question.  i took everything apart, removed the corroded nipples, cleaned the holes and surroundings with acetone and took the pieces to a welder who works aluminium, along with an aluminium tube that fits decently. 50$ have new nipples.  now if i can get the bike back together...

$50 for new nipples? That's a pretty cheap boob job! :)  I couldn't resist!

Where did you get the water pump gaskets from?

Scooterdynasty.com has one, I believe.
