Front Fairing Replacement
« on: July 17, 2016, 02:03:24 AM »
Just got an RV 200 evo last month. Runs great with zero problems, until I got t-boned by a deer. The antlers did more damage to me than to the scooter, but I've still got some missing plastic just below the right turn signal. Any idea how I go about getting a new front fairing?

Also, it's astounding how lucky I was to be able to keep upright, and even popped my own shoulder back into the socket after the collision.

[[UPDATE]]

A buck with one antler just crossed my front lawn whilst I was on the porch having a cigarette. He just walked over and looked at me before walking away with his head down. My phone was, unfortunately, on the charger. I'm currently contemplating life and the universe and what it means to be human. That deer may have just come back to apologize. When was the last time I did that?

I may be the luckiest unlucky son of a gun to walk the earth. :-\

I too own an RV200. Of course, there is your nearest SYM dealership that you may contact. If the dealership is too far, contact the distributor; I recall reading that they sometimes sell parts directly to customers who don't have a dealership at a convenient distance.

While I have not had need for parts yet, I have compiled a list of potential sources, from people who have posted in the past. Thanks to all you posters who have indicated sources in your posts.

You shall notice that some sources are abroad. I have bought from abroad in the past, so it is a viable option at times.

I've copied my list below. Hope it helps, & let us know the step by step procedure on how you do it. :P

•Scoot Richmond (804-230-1000) in central Virginia has access to parts from SYM Canada & staff are extremely helpful.

•Scooter Assasins (exportstrength@googlemail.com) in Taiwan (DragonParts on Ebay) can get whatever you need for SYM. Contact them.

•Contact Michael at Lance Power Sports, parts manager, for a more detailed parts inventory (michael.mcdaniel@lancepowersports.com) & for what parts are available for which models.

•There is a great alternate source for parts by way of Cam Purvis from Taiwan, & can get most SYM parts. Cam@Scooterseals.com. He is in Taiwan & ships globally. A great resource. The SYM RV200 is actually sold in Taiwan as the RV180. If mail order suits you, & the body panel is not too big to be accepted by the post office or just so large that shipping goes through the roof. Anything else ships quickly for a reasonable price.

Good luck, & looking forward to your step-by-step!  ;D
