New (2012) scooters
« on: August 06, 2015, 08:26:11 AM »
Hello Mio Scooter enthusiasts!

Long-time motorcyclist here. I’m the proud owner of two brand-new, 2012 Mio 50 scooters. I purchased them from a sports equipment dealer that to my knowledge will no longer be carrying scooters, as there is just not enough of a market here in northwest Montana. But then, that turned out to my advantage as they had some scooters left over from their last order back in 2012.

As of this morning, they still have two new 2012 Mio 50’s and a Simba. If anyone is interested they can check out Northwest Motorsports. Closeout pricing on the Mio's and great people to do business with as well.

My new scooter has 3 miles on the odometer. After picking it up yesterday, I took some time to go over it, checking fasteners, oil level, air filter, tire pressure, etc.  The scooter seems to be very well made, and my wife and I are looking forward to getting out on them today.

Does anyone here know of any significant differences between a 2012 and a 2015/16 Mio 50? I’ve also found some mention of the “governor” that can be removed or disabled in order to get them up to around 40 mph.  As I will probably be doing the servicing myself, is there anything I’ll need to particularly pay attention to?

Thanks

2012 Mio 50 . . “governor” that can be removed or disabled in order to get them up to around 40 mph

These discussions may, or may not, be relevant . . restrictions . . CDI.

Nice find - I love my 2014 Mio 50.  Just bought the rear rack, but have not yet installed it.  Definitely de-restrict yours - it is worth it.
