General Discussion / Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017
« on: December 31, 2016, 11:24:49 PM »
This was not a great year all the way around - so many deaths and tragedies this year - so I'm very glad to give 2016 a swift kick in the butt and send it out the door. Here's wishing everyone  on the forum a much better, wonderful, and healthy 2017! Ride safe, everyone!

General Discussion / Retired at last!!
« on: June 13, 2016, 09:08:50 AM »
Well folks, after 32 years of teaching middle schoolers (and high school for the last 8 years), I am hanging up my Band Director baton and becoming CEO of Household Honey-dos and Naps!! I know that for some of you, 32 years doesn't seem like a lot, but trust me, teaching middle school is like dog years: each one seems like seven.   ;D

Now I get to ride whenever I choose to, and the scooter will become my primary commuting and errand machine (at least until the heavy snow hits.) The big F-150 will also be retired, and we have both earned it - lots of mileage on us both!

Hang in there, everyone. Your time will eventually come!

General Discussion / New Fiddle III or HD 200 - which would you choose?
« on: December 21, 2014, 12:56:52 PM »
Last week I was down at my scooter dealer (the wonderful Scooters of Boise) and we were talking about the mid-size scooters, specifically comparing the specs on these two bikes. Fiddle will be 173cc with fuel injection, and the HD is 171 non-FI; 16" tires on the HD, 13 or 14 on the Fiddle; rugged reputation of the HD vs. unknown new engine in the Fiddle; retro look vs. more modern look, etc. Without having the Fiddle on hand to compare, we ended up without any definite conclusion.

Any thoughts here from the more experienced riders on this forum? I'd love to have your input.

General Discussion / Anyone know what the new T2 is?
« on: August 14, 2014, 08:43:59 PM »
Just looked on the SYM website, and the top scrolling banner is announcing "'s coming" and that's all - can't find any other info on their website about it, just that teaser. Any ideas? Is this the rumored new 200 cc bike?

General Discussion / Harley rider w/ "new" road attire!
« on: June 29, 2014, 06:09:40 PM »
Saw a rider on a Harley today who was sporting the latest in protective road gear. I REALLY wish I had a camera with me or reacted quicker, but I just couldn't believe what I saw until I did a double take, but he was gone by then. This amazing, incredible riding gear was........
I swear to God, the dude was wearing a skimpy little Speedo! In the middle of Idaho! (And trust me, this was NOT a body you want to see 98% naked.) Not something we see every day around here, that's for sure! If you'll excuse me now, I have to go wash off my eyeballs. I can never un- see THAT!

General Discussion / Question for Ootscoot - torque specs?
« on: May 18, 2014, 12:01:47 AM »
Hey Ootscoot, maybe you can help out here. I have a Lance PCH 150, and it feels like the nuts holding the front wheel are loose. Do you have the specs on how many foot pounds of torque should be applied to the front wheel? I have a slight vibration between 30 - 40 mph. I want to eliminate that possibility before considering if I need to replace the stock tire. Thanks for the help!

General Discussion / New SYM/Lance Cabo?
« on: April 26, 2014, 08:00:59 AM »
Has anyone seen the new Lance Cabo in person yet? The back end looks like a PCH with a different faring on the front and "knobby" tires from the few photos I've seen. Any info from dealers (Ootscoot?) that you could give us? Here's a photo:

What do you think about it?

General Discussion / RV 200 EVO or Citycom 300i? Any advice?
« on: April 06, 2014, 08:27:30 AM »
My wife and I have 150 cc scooters now, and absolutely love them. We are thinking of up-sizing to bigger bikes so we could extend our exploration of this region by riding highway speeds on some of the country highways around here (not interested in freeway riding), yet still have a usable, easy-to-handle bike for commuting around town. Any advice or comparison between these two scooters you can give me? Is there really $1200 worth of difference between them? Thoughts? I appreciate any input you can offer! Thanks in advance!

General Discussion / Dry roads at last!
« on: December 27, 2013, 09:12:56 PM »
Finally, all the snow has melted off the roads and the sun peeked out enough to dry them out! Of course I jumped on the scooter and took a long-overdue ride. What a great feeling to be out on the road again on my PCH 150! Of course, my only motivation was to try out the new winter riding gear I got for Christmas.  ;)  Hope you all can find some dry roads of your own very soon!
